Women’s March on Washington

To Go To D.C.

Date: January 21, 2017

Time: 10:00 am – 11:00 pm

Location: Lincoln Memorial, Washington D.C.

The Women’s March on Washington will take place on Saturday, January 21st 2017 at 10 am (the day after the inauguration). The march will begin at the Lincoln Memorial at 10am, and will end at the White House that afternoon.  The event itself is free, of course, and there are many options for transportation:

  • Drive yourself (Please carpool 4-5 to a car, let us know if you have extra space in your car)
  • Use Crowdsourcing websites like Rally Bus, Wanderu, or Skedaddle (a smartphone app) to join a trip
  • Check the Facebook page Women’s March on Washington – Massachusetts for folks who have chartered buses/vans
  • Please let us know if your school/church/synagogue is setting up a private bus and we will help you fill it!

As of right now, we know there are several round trip buses through the website Rally Bus  departing from several spots in Western Massachusetts, including Northampton, Amherst, Greenfield and Springfield.

Bus Information

Organizers are still collecting information on charter buses.  They say more buses can be reserved based on interest but the goal is to fill all current buses. Information about departure times/location are on the respective websites.

Local Solidarity Actions

Event Details

Date: January 21, 2017

Time: 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm

Location: Greenfield Town Common

In solidarity with the Women’s March on Washington, women and their allies will gather on the Greenfield Town Common (Court Square) for a rally on Saturday, January 21 at 12:30 p.m.

Many women I know will travel to Washington for the Women’s March on Washington and many of us can’t be in Washington that day. I am helping create this local rally so we can show solidarity with the national March and add our voices to the call for women’s rights. I encourage all women and our allies to stand up for women’s rights and human rights on January 21st and every day.”
