Allies in the Northeast are being asked to mobilize to Columbus, OH to join the Coalition of Immokalee Workers at Wendy’s headquarters hometown to demand farmworker justice from the final fast food holdout. On March 25, the CIW and allies will be hosting a Human Rights Conference with students, academics and community leaders to learn about the groundbreaking work of the CIW and outline ways to support frontline communities in defending their fundamental human rights. On March 26, the Columbus community and thousands from across the country, will meet in action for a tremendous Parade for Human Rights, bringing together people from all walks of life, a multitude of experience who wish to ally themselves with farmworkers to call for better wages and working conditions in our country’s food system.
The approximate cost of travel for the two-day conference is $175 for roundtrip bus accommodations. Housing and food will be covered over the course of the weekend. Registration is along a sliding scale so that it is accessible to everyone: ranging from $35-$200 based on need and access to funds.
